In a recent TechRadar article, BlackBerry software head Vivek Bhardwaj commented that this huge switch to Exchange ActiveSync is a change in the right direction for BlackBerry, praising it as an “open standard”.
The article was very positive about Exchange ActiveSync, listing some major advantages over the BlackBerry Internet Service, such as being able to get your email significantly faster, synchronization of read and deleted messages in both directions, and direct synchronization of your contacts and calendars.
